Diana Hopeson
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has congratulated Diana Hopeson on her appointment as the intellectual property icon by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
The appointment follows the celebration of the WIPO Day under the theme: ‘Powering Change: Women In Innovation & Creativity’.
Mrs Hopeson is the immediate past president of MUSIGA and the first woman president of the union.
She is currently a member of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) board and an adjunct faculty member of the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI’s) Music Production Department, which is being run in collaboration with MUSIGA.
WIPO Day is celebrated globally on April 26 with the aim of raising awareness of how intellectual property impacts lives and to celebrate creators and innovators who contribute to the development and enrichment of lives.
“The event is to focus attention on how innovation is making our lives healthier, better, safe and more comfortable through health, education, agriculture among others and how innovation can attract investment, reward, creators and encourage more development and creativity,” a letter signed by the Registrar-General Mrs Jemima M. Oware stated.
