About 41,250 Ghanaian youth across the country are to receive training on mobile electronic hardware service and maintenance from US-based Information Technology training institute, My Cellphone Repairs Training Center (MCRTC).

The institute earlier this year announced its intention to enter the Ghanaian market.

It has opened its repair center at the A&C Mall at East Legon, a suburb of Accra. The centre currently employs 10 persons.

MCRTC intends to train about 150 people per constituency nationwide, and a total of 41,250 people would benefit from the training in all 275 constituencies.

Currently, the center has managed to submit proposals to about 72 parliamentarians across the country, and barring any hitches, it will set up one main service training center in each region of Ghana within a year or so from now.

The establishment of the training centers would be done through the Members of Parliament (MPs), according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MCRTC, Abdul W. Annan, a US-based Ghanaian, who disclosed this to DAILY GUIDE in an interview on Friday in Accra.

He indicated that the training programmes are intended to help contribute immensely to the development of Ghana’s mobile electronic industry, as well as address the high unemployment among the youth in the country.

He pointed out that “in order to address the unemployment rate, our main focus is to set up mobile electronic training facilities hopefully in each constituency and partner possibly the technical schools to revive them.”

He reiterated that students, who undergo the training, shall be issued with certificates of completion by MCRTC Inc. of the US, which are accordingly accepted by mobile electronic service centers worldwide.

He stressed the need to support the mobile electronic industry in Ghana to grow and be well coordinated to ensure the creation of jobs and wealth.

Currently, he stated that the center is also training about 10 people at its A&C Mall facility, and that it intends to link up with industries to ensure that graduates are immediately employed.

He said the retail service center at the mall would repair original mobile devices mainly Samsung, iPhone, Motorola HTC, Lenovo.

“If you are somebody looking to get original parts and services for your device without being worried about somebody taking out personal information or removing parts of your devices to sell elsewhere, we are the number one shop.”
