THE NATIONAL ACCREDITATION Board (NAB) has congratulated two of its members – Professor Kwame Boasiako Omane-Antwi and Professor Smile Dzisi – on their recent elevations.
In a statement signed by its acting Executive Secretary, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, the board expressed their delight in the achievements of their members.
The board congratulated Prof. Omane-Antwi on winning the prestigious Life Time Achievement Award at the 4th edition of the recently held Ghana Financial Innovation Awards 2018.
The honour was in recognition of his exceptional service in business and public service. The award was also to acknowledge his extraordinary innovation, untiring efforts and contribution to the financial sector as amply showcased during his tenure as head of professional bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG), the Institute of Directors, Ghana and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Ghana.
Prof. Smile Dzisi on the other hand was applauded for her elevation to the position of Chairperson of the Conference of Rectors/Vice Chancellors of Polytechnics and Technical Universities as well as her appointment as the Vice Chairperson (Western Region) of the Commonwealth Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics at its recently held 52nd meeting in Nairobi.
With this appointment, she would be in charge of the association’s Western Region, comprising Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, The Gambia and Sierra Leone.
Prof Dzisi made history as the first female Rector in the annals of Ghana’s history and is the current Vice Chancellor of the Koforidua Technical University.
“The National Accreditation Board, of which both are members, recognises the remarkable accomplishments of Prof Omane-Antwi and Prof Smile Dzisi, in recognition of their amazing efforts and commitment to encouraging and strengthening excellence in higher education”, the statement read.
