President Akufo-Addo yesterday commissioned the refurbished Bolgatanga Regional Hospital in the Upper East Region.

The rehabilitated Bolgatanga Regional Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced medical infrastructure including a new mothers’ hostel, staff accommodation, and a cutting-edge medical gas building.

The modern hospital symbolises the government’s commitment to providing better health infrastructure for improved quality healthcare for every Ghanaian.

It is poised to meet the growing healthcare needs of the people in the Upper East Region.

“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Saudi Government for their generous support through a $52 million concessional loan from the Saudi Fund for Development,” President Akufo-Addo said at the ceremony.

He said the vital partnership has been instrumental in transforming the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital into a centre of excellence, reflecting the strong and fruitful relationship between the two countries.

The President further noted that his administration has made significant strides in the health sector, including the recruitment of over 202,000 healthcare professionals, revitalising the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), and expanding the hospital infrastructure nationwide.

“As we celebrate the commissioning of this hospital, I encourage the community to take pride in this achievement and work together to ensure its continued success, as we strive to build a healthier and stronger Ghana for all,” President Akufo-Addo added.
