In a brief interview to ascertain how she feels on receiving the award, Nana Efua had this to say: It is been a tough journey re-building and sustaining the GLICO brand over the past seven years. Marketing, and specifically Public Relations has undergone revolution in the face of digitalization, the internet of things and cutthroat competition. Today’s stakeholders cannot be taken for granted by just giving them any information. Organization’s today have to create relevance and value to provide the customer a strong basis to stick with them or to switch from the competition to them. Achieving this requires the deployment of key strategic initiatives in product strategy, distribution convenience, stakeholder relations, customer services, crisis communication, among others. This is what I have worked with the GLICO team to achieve and significantly for insurance, to pay claims on time for the benefits of the client who is faced with uncertainties. I must admit that I have had the strong support of the Executive Chairman, Mr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei, whose vision guides everything we do at GLICO.Additionally, I have had the support of the various GLICO Boards, the Executive Committee, management and Staff of GLICO. When Public Relations is seen as a management function contributing to key decision making, obviously re-building and sustaining a brand is made easy and achievable in spite of all the challenges.
Nana Efua then dedicated the award to the Almighty Father Mother God who guides and sustains her every day. She specially showed appreciation to her Corporate Affairs & Marketing team who have been her pillar for strategic implementation and also to the media who have showed her immense support and continues to advise her to achieve the best.
