Nana Otuo Serebuor welcoming President Akufo-Addo and President Cyril Ramaphosa to the durbar grounds
PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given thumbs up to the Juabenhene, Nana Otuo Serebuor, for providing sterling leadership for his people for the past 50 years.
He observed that the Juabenhene’s reign has led to peace, unity and transformation of Juaben, Asanteman and Ghana in general, therefore it was appropriate for Nana Otuo Serebuor to be celebrated.
President Akufo-Addo delivered the positive remarks during a grand durbar of chiefs and people to mark Nana Otuo Serebuor’s outstanding 50 years reign on the throne at Juaben, in the Ashanti Region, on Saturday.
He said the Juabenhene, who doubles as the Chairman of the Council of State, continues to pay his dues to the country, praying for God’s continuous guidance for him to do more.
President Akufo-Addo entreated traditional leaders in the country to emulate the shining example of the Juabenhene, stressing that chiefs should always contribute to the effective transformation of their communities.
The colourful traditional programme was graced by His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, Ministers of State, Members of Parliament and others.
Nana Otuo Serebuor, in his address, assured to continue to lead the Council of State to offer good counsel to the President in order for him to continue with his efforts to transform the country and improve the lives of the masses.
According to him, he has used his revered position as the Paramount Chief of Juaben to bring more development to the area, and said he was eternally grateful to President Akufo-Addo for his support.
Nana Otuo Serebuor recounted projects such as school buildings, assembly complex, toilet facilities, street lights and the Adu Boahen Complex, among others, as some of his achievements during his half a century reign.
The Juaben Paramount Chief assured that he would continue to use his position as chief to provide the necessary development to Juaben so as to enhance the lives of his people and Ghanaians in general.
Nana Otuo Serebour also urged chiefs and opinion leaders in the various communities to train and instill cultural discipline in the youth, who are the future leaders, so that they would exhibit good morals at all times.
The historic programme was characterised by the display of rich Asante culture.
