Accra-based Neat FM has apologised to some Ghanaian female showbiz personalities whose reputations have been ruined by one ‘slay queen’ by name Mona Gucci on the station’s programme dubbed Entertainment GH.
In an interview tagged ‘Secret Lives of Slay Queens’ on Neat FM hosted by movie producer Ola Michael, Mona listed a number of Ghanaian celebrities who she alleged are ‘slay queens’.
According to her, they engage in various sex activities for money to the extent that some of them are picked from Ghana by private jets or their travel expenses paid for to Dubai only to be “sodomised” by rich men.
The names of the personalities have been withheld in this publication, but they included actresses, presenters and a female journalist.
Neat FM has been criticised for availing its platform to someone to mention names and describe lifestyles of others in a very degrading manner without evidence.
Indications are that some of the persons mentioned are threatening to take legal action.
On Tuesday, the station issued a disclaimer and apologised to the actresses mentioned in the said interview.
“We sincerely apologise for any toes that may have been stepped on. We at Neat 100.9FM disassociate ourselves from all allegations made by our studio guest, Mona Gucci. It is not our aim or intention to destroy or tarnish images. Once again, we apologise,” the station said on its Facebook page.
“I, Michael Kwaku Ola, host of Entertainment GH on Neat 100.9FM, wish to render an unqualified apology to all those who by virtue of their names being mentioned or some innuendos pelted at them feel hurt by the discussion we had on Entertainment GH yesterday, 25th May 2020. It was never the intention of myself nor my team to denigrate or disrespect any of the wonderful ladies whose names came up through our discussion,” Ola also apologised.
