The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Akropong in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region, Ms Rebecca Yeboah, has cut the sod for the construction of a modern court building to improve justice delivery in the area.

The people of Atwima Akropong lack a proper court building and this is impeding justice delivery in the town.

The district assembly believes that law and order is pivotal if the area is to realize its transformational agenda, hence the building of the modern court.

Ms. Rebecca Yeboah stated that all the three arms of government – the executive, legislature and judiciary – needed to be supported to deliver.

According to her, the assembly wants law and order to reign in the newly created district, saying “the construction of the court building is important”.

The assembly would rely on its share of the district development fund to finance the modern court building, whose construction will last for six months.

The sod-cutting ceremony was witnessed by Kaleem Abdallah Adam, Thomas Awuah Asem, Isaac Ohemeng, Stephen Kumi and Davis Opoku.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency, Benito Owusu-Bio, lauded the DCE for the project.

He was of the view that the project, when completed, would help boost justice delivery and also influence the people to respect the law always.
