‘Lilwin’ (With ball) poses with officials and players of New Edubiase
Lower-tier side New Edubiase United on Friday signed popular actor Kwadwo Nkansah ‘Lilwin’ on a two-year contract.
He was among six new players the club unveiled five days ago in a ceremony ahead of the start of the 2021-22 season.
The Division One side has hired the Kumawood actor as the club’s ambassador as well as a player for next two seasons.
He told Happy FM “It’s time to play football. I have signed two seasons for New Edubiase United.
“I currently play in the number seven position or any position in the midfield. The coach requested for my services as a player, while the CEO wants me as the ambassador of the team. I can play for the first 45 minutes, and with time I can play the entire 90 minutes.
“As long as I play for New Edubiase United, no team will beat us,” he added.
The club also announced the signing of former Hearts of Oak midfielder Malik Akowuah and Stephen Akurugu.
The club has set an ambitious target to qualify to the Ghana Premier League next season.
Club president Abdul Salam Yakubu has described the actor’s capture as strategic.
