Recipients and members of the Firdaus Youth Association after the donation
An Islamic philanthropic group, Firdaus Youth Association, has supported 30 orphans chosen randomly from Nima in Accra with money and fabrics.
According to the chairman of the association, Alhaji Hamah Dawud Yarimah, the gesture is in conformity with the tenets of Islam which enjoins us to be charitable during the holy month of Ramadan, more so since the beneficiaries are orphans.
The association is part of the Firdaus Mosque not far from the Nima Roundabout towards the bridge separating Nima from Accra Newtown.
Each of the orphans received an amount of GH¢300 and a fabric for them to sew pieces of cloth for themselves.
Continuing, Alhaji Hamah said “we started the donation programme five years ago and the funds raised are dues members of the association contribute towards the annual gesture. We send scouts to look for orphans at Nima”.
