Director of Public Affairs, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah Akrofi

Director of Public Affairs, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah Akrofi, has bemoaned the increasing use of motorbikes at various polling stations across the country.

This, according to her, is a disturbing situation that could cause tensions at the various polling stations.

Addressing journalists at a press conference, ACP Ansah Akrofi stated that individuals using motorbikes must park 100 meters away from the polling centres to avoid congestion.

“We’ve noticed that some people are trying to access polling stations with their motorbikes. We urge them to park at least 100 metres away from the polling centres to avoid congestion,” she stated.

She added that police officers have been deployed to ensure security throughout the electoral process.

“As we speak, our officers are monitoring the situation, observing, and intervening whenever necessary,” she stated. “We’ll be responding to issues and updating the public with facts as they emerge.”

To ensure a smooth and peaceful process, ACP Ansah Akrofi encouraged the public to report any incidents to the police via their toll-free number, 0800311311. “Our officers are ready to respond to situations as they arise,” she added.

She also cautioned against spreading unverified information, emphasising the importance of accuracy and truth in maintaining a peaceful and successful electoral process.

ACP Akrofi assured the public that the National Election Security Taskforce is fully prepared to secure the electoral process from start to finish.

“We urge the public to work with us to ensure a peaceful and successful outcome. Together, Ghana will win,” she concluded.
