Dr. J.K. Moussa making the presentation at Nyinanufu on Tuesday
VICTIMS OF a fuel tanker explosion that gutted some houses at Nyinanufu, a farming community in the Ahafo Ano South-West District in the Ashanti Region last month, have received massive support.
The fire victims, including elderly women and children, who virtually lost all their belongings, have taken delivery of items like school uniforms, second-hand cloths, footwear, cooking utensils, Wellington boots and others.
The benevolent gesture was made by Dr. J.K. Moussa, a philanthropist and Member of the Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), whose father hails from the community.
Unfortunately, last month’s inferno at Nyinanufu, which caused massive destruction in the town, was said to have also affected Dr. Moussa’s late father, Mr. Wiamoase Mensah’s 72-year-old house in the community.
Dr. Moussa is noted for having a kind heart as he has in the past used his own resources to construct a basic school building and an adjoining teacher’s bungalow, as part of his personal efforts to promote education in the town.
In his remarks, Dr. Moussa stated that it is more blessed to give than to receive, stressing that it was his fervent hope that his timely support would go a long way to help lessen the burden of the fire victims.
Dr. Moussa, who was accompanied by the Ashanti Regional National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Boss, Kwabena Nsenkyire, promised to build another teacher’s bungalow by the end of the year.
Nana Asaw Ababio, the chief of the town and Johnson Kwaku Adu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo Ano South-West, in their separate remarks, described Dr. Moussa as a kind and true son of the community.
