NPP Zongo Man Rewarded For Covid- 19 Fight

A TOP Member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Ali Suraj, who is very influential in the Zongo communities across the country, especially in Kumasi, has been honoured for his active role in the Covid-19 fight.

The NPP man, who is noted for his generosity, is the proud recipient of the 2020 Top Leadership Award for Excellence organized by the United Clergy International Association (UCIA), which was held in Sunyani, the Bono Regional capital.

The colourful programme, which took place at the plush Eusbeth Hotel on August 1, 2020, saw some influential traditional leaders, top politicians, the clergy, businessmen, among others, in attendance.

The awards ceremony is organized annually to honour the efforts of private individuals, men of God, the business community, politicians and all others that have demonstrated remarkable contributions towards the development of their community and people.

Ali Suraj was given the enviable award following his extraordinary display of love and care from the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, as he donated freely to the needy in society.

The NPP guru used his own resources to buy a variety of food items, hand sanitizers, face masks, among others, which he presented freely to people that could not afford them in those difficult moments.

Ali Suraj’s donation took place in Zongo areas like Nima in Accra, Asawase in Kumasi, and the Asutifi South Constituency in the Ahafo Region, where he has contested the NPP parliamentary candidate position twice.

The representatives of the UCIA said they were also impressed with Ali Suraj’s significant roles and efforts in transforming the Asutifi South Constituency over the years.

According to them, Ali Suraj continues to work tirelessly to bring development to the constituency to the lives of the people, notably the youth.

They said Ali Suraj had opened a new information centre, set up educational fund to support brilliant but needy students in the constituency to realize their academic goals.

The organizers of the top awards ceremony also commended Ali Suraj for being a unifier and peace-loving politician, whose main focus is what he could do in earnest to promote humanity and his country.

Ali Suraj, who hails from Acherensua in the Ahafo Region, in an interview with DAILY GUIDE, stated that all along he didn’t know that his personal effort towards development was being tracked and promised to do more.

The NPP man, who is a staunch Muslim, gave thanks to Allah for his constant protection and blessings, which had made it possible for him (Ali Suraj) to be a blessing and a source of hope to his people.
