The Ghana National Service Scheme (NSS) has directed all user agencies and other stakeholders to henceforth, make all payments including the 20% and 10% administrative service charges to the scheme through the ghana.gov platform.
A statement signed by Deputy Executive Director of NSS, Gifty Oware-Aboagye, said the move was “in pursuit of the government’s vision of digitising the economy and modernising revenue collections, and management of the scheme.”
The statement said, “Ghana.gov is a digital service and revenue collection platform created to provide a single point of access to Government of Ghana services for the public sector,” adding “it provides hassle free payment options which include mobile money, card-based and bank transfer payments which are all suited for use by our user-agencies.”
It said that “heads of user agencies and other stakeholders are therefore, informed that invoices and other supporting document which spell out simple step-by-step procedure for using GHANA.GOV for payment has been emailed to them and are therefore entreated to refer to such document for convenience. User agencies are requested to contact the NSS Headquarters accounts office on 0554404422 for any further information or igf@nss.gov.gh.”
“Management by this statement urges all user-agencies and other stakeholders to adopt the GHANA.GOV payment platform and comply with this new directive for easier, hassle free transactional experience as we all contribute to enabling Government of Ghana fulfil its goal of creating a cash-lite economy,” it added.
