Nzema Youth Endorse Blay As Ghana Gas Boss

The youth of Nzema in the Western Region has warmly welcomed the appointment of Judith Adjobah Blay as the Acting Managing Director (MD) of Ghana National Gas Company.

Madam Blay until her appointment served as the Deputy Director of Contracts Administration at the Petroleum Commission, Ghana.

Madam Blay is a highly accomplished professional with over 20 years of experience in Ghana’s energy sector and beyond.

It would be recalled that recently the Nzema youth called on President Mahama to appoint an Nzema as Ghana Gas CEO in fulfilment of a promise he made to the people in the area during the 2024 electioneering campaign.

The youth therefore view Madam Blay’s appointment as a strategic decision to address longstanding challenges in the Nzema area, particularly in infrastructure development and youth employment.

According to the Convener of the Concerned Youth of Nzema, Jonas Kabutey, the Acting Ghana Gas CEO’s is expected to bring strategic direction to the organisation to ensure efficiency and growth in the country’s gas sector.

He noted that the appointment marks a significant milestone in the country’s energy sector, given Madam Blay’s extensive experience in leadership, policy development, and sustainable business practices.

The Acting MD of Ghana Gas is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) UK and holds an MA in International Transactions from George Mason University, USA.

She holds an MSc in Procurement & Supply Chain Management from KNUST, and a BA in French and Linguistics from the University of Ghana.

She is pursuing an LLM in Public Procurement Law & Policy at the University of Nottingham.

She is an alumna of Wesley Girls’ High School and had served as an advisory board member for the Western Regional Coastal Foundation and other sustainability initiatives.

Meanwhile, the Director of Operations at Ghana Gas, Robert Lartey has been elevated to the position of Deputy MD, reinforcing the company’s commitment to strong leadership and operational efficiency.

It is believed that the leadership team is well-positioned to drive Ghana Gas towards achieving its long-term goals.
