Ofori Amponsah
One of Ghana’s highlife musicians, Ofori Amponsah, has disclosed that coming close to legendary Daddy Lumba back in the days brought him greatness.
According to him, he always thank God for giving him the opportunity to meet and work with the highlife legend, adding “I thank God that I met such a big and a great person and am proud to be part of him.”
Ofori Amponsah, who is credited with a number of albums and hit songs such ‘Odwo’, ‘Emmanuella’, ‘Sardine’, ‘Abelle’, ‘Puduo’, ‘Nothing But Love’ among others, believes that his association with Daddy Lumba has made him who he is today and whatever he got from him has manifested in his life.
In an interview with Akorfa on TV3’s Simply Showbiz, Ofori Amponsah said “Whatever I got from Daddy Lumba that is what you are seeing today.”
According to him, he believes Daddy Lumba is a different personality who believes in his own craft, and he knows what he has as a great musician.
A few years ago, Ofori Amponsah quit secular music to pursue full-time gospel ministry, preaching the word of God. He was the head pastor of the Holy Ground Sanctuary in Accra.
But after living the life of a ‘man of God’ for a while, Ofori Amponsah, also known as All4Real, realised he was not cut for that role and came back with a song titled ‘Alewa’ featuring Sarkodie, saying he was done with that life and has reconciled with secular music.
He, however, pleaded with Ghanaians to forgive him if he offended anyone with his intermittent switch from highlife to gospel and back to highlife because he was confused at that time.
