FLASHBACK: Oko Boye (2nd R) in action
The vibrant community of Ledzokuku Constituency will on Friday at the Teshie Maami Community Centre witness a thrilling night of armwrestling.
Minister for Health, Dr. Bernard Oko Boye, will host the month’s edition of the Friday Night Armwrestling event where patrons and spectators will be treated to an electrifying display of strength, skill, and sportsmanship.
The host, who also doubles as the parliamentary aspirant for the constituency and a renowned physician, sports enthusiast, patron, and former armwrestler, has called on participants and spectators alike, from the Ledzokuku Constituency and beyond to come and witness, as well as participate in the event.
He also emphasised the importance of promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement through sports.
The competition will feature a diverse range of armwrestlers, from novices to seasoned athletes, vying for top honours in their respective weight classes.
The atmosphere will be charged, with each match showcasing incredible displays of power, technique, and determination.
Dr. Oko Boye himself will take to the table, flexing his muscles in a friendly showdown with Ghana Armwrestling Vice President, Dr. Kofi Addo-Agyekum, proving to the latter and spectators of his armwrestling prowess.
The event will also feature a special armwrestling demonstration by Ghana’s national armwrestling team that won 41 medals at the African Games, to inspire the audience with their impressive skills.
The Friday night event will have winners go home with attractive rewards.
The Friday Night Armwrestling event to be hosted in Teshie Maami is an initiative of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation in collaboration with Dr. Oko Boye, to unearth more talents, encourage participation and a testament to Dr. Oko Boye’s commitment to promoting sports and community development initiatives, solidifying his position as a champion of sports and community development in Ghana.
The “Friday Night Armwrestling” is under the management and technical direction of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation.
