Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), has allegedly been arrested by the Special Prosecutor on charges of alleged distribution of money to delegates prior to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary primaries.
The arrest came after a report was filed by Kwame Anyimadu Antwi, Nkansah’s main rival for the Asante Akim Central parliamentary seat.
Felix Amakye, the NPP’s Asante Akim Central constituency secretary, disclosed this during an interview on Citi FM.
It was stated that Anyimadu Antwi had brought the matter to the attention of the Special Prosecutor, leading to Nkansah’s arrest.
Following his arrest, Nkansah was taken into custody and subsequently transported to his office in Accra to aid in the ongoing investigations.
It is pertinent to note that Nkansah is actively challenging Antwi, the incumbent, for the Asante Akim Central parliamentary seat.

The NPP has scheduled the parliamentary primaries for constituencies with incumbent MPs on January 27, 2024.
