Otumfuo and King Charles
THE ASANTEHENE, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and King Charles have had fruitful private talks behind closed doors.
The meeting was reportedly held at the Sandringham House in the United Kingdom (UK) and was not opened to the press.
What the two powerful monarchs discussed is not privy to the media, but it may have something to do with Ghana-UK relations.
The Asantehene, according to reports, is currently in the UK as part of his Silver Jubilee celebrations on the Golden Stool.
He marked ‘Awukudae’ festival in his residence in the UK last Wednesday, and it was attended by Ghanaians in the UK.
The Asantehene would also be marking ‘Akwasidae’ festival in the UK on August 4. The event is expected to be massive.
The Manhyia Palace, the seat of Otumfuo and the Buckingham Palace in the UK have enjoyed close relations for many years.
King Charles, when he was the Prince of Wales, visited Otumfuo at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and they had fruitful talks.
Other royals from the Buckingham Palace have also visited the Manhyia Palace to have talks with the Asante Monarch.
Otumfuo was among the few kings across the globe who were invited to the coronation of King Charles in London.
