Papaye Fast Food has officially opened its new eco-tourism project, ‘Papaye Recreational Village’, which was established to promote tourism in the country.
The recreational village, located at Konkonuru near Aburi in the Eastern Region, has facilities such as forest reserve, event centre, zoo, children’s amusement park, sports complex, swimming pool, restaurant, and conference hall among others.
The opening ceremony was graced by the board members of Papaye, Frank Aidoo, Akuapim South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), and a section of the media among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Papaye Group, Mr. Divine Kwadwo Asiedu, said Papaye’s Eco-Tourism project is indeed beneficial to Ghanaians for many reasons, including the preservation of the ecosystem.
He noted that Papaye Recreational Village will contribute to provide active and passive recreational opportunities, appeal to all ages as well as contribute to the health and wellness of its patrons and creating valuable green space.
On his part, the Executive Chairman of Papaye Group, Dr. Samir Kalmoni, said the facility is one of the largest urban park on the West African region.
“Our goal was not just to build a major environmental infrastructure and a central attraction for visitors, but also to create a cultural space contributing to the city’s economic and social development,” he stated.
He mentioned that revenues generated by entrance fee and services offered to visitors will cover the costs of operating, maintaining and developing the site.
