A cross section of the graduating pastors
The Chancellor of Immanuel Bible Institute and Seminary (IBIS), Dr. Fred Opoku-Gyimah has cautioned pastors not to allow party politics and tribalism to divide Ghanaians as “we are all one people and one nation”.
According to him, it is disheartening to see how some ‘men of God’ have allowed ethnocentrism to creep into to the Church thereby dividing it.
Dr. Opoku-Gyimah gave the caution at the 6th graduation ceremony of Immanuel Bible Institute and Seminary in Accra.
A total of 145 pastors who offered a two-year Bachelor Degree, Masters and PhD programmes graduated this year.
Dr. Opoku-Gyimah speaking at the ceremony decried tribalism and party politics which he said is dividing the church and the nation and cautioned the graduates to be mindful of their acts.
He said the greatest display of leadership is to provide the grounds for others to find and fulfill their God-given purpose and urged them to go and make a difference in their churches and communities.
National Director of IBIS, Dr. Agyemang Boateng in his report stated that the school has been able to add two new satellite campuses at Tamale in the Northern Region and Asamankese in the Eastern Region.
He added that they have also acquired a piece of land at New Bortianor in Accra and the preparatory work on a lecture theatre and administration block has also commenced.
He congratulated the graduates and also tanked the faculty members for their tremendous efforts in grooming the students.
Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowahin, in a message delivered on his behalf urged churches to help achieve the President’s vision of making Accra the cleanest city in Africa.
The Ghana Campus of IBIS is affiliated to the Immanuel Bible Institute and Seminary at Brooklyn, New York, USA.
The Institute’s faculty members are made up of experienced, highly trained and spirit-filled local and foreign lecturers and professors.
Currently, IBIS runs three programmes, namely, the Bachelor of Theology Degree, Master of Theology Degree, and Doctor of Theology Degree.
Besides the Accra Campus, the Institute has seven other campuses at Odumase-Krobo, Nsawam, Suhum, Tema, Kumasi, Sunyani, and Takoradi.
