Paul Pogba Touches Down In Man Utd For Medicals

Paul Pogba has arrived in England ahead of his proposed world record transfer from Juventus to former team Manchester United.

The Old Trafford club confirmed shortly before the Community Shield on Sunday that Pogba had been given permission by Juventus to travel to undergo the routine health check.

Sky Sports reported on Monday morning that the midfielder’s private jet was due to take off from Nice in the south of France at 9.15am (BST), before touching down at Manchester Airport just over two hours later.

Manchester Airport have since taken to Twitter, sharing an image of the plane carrying Pogba as it made its way down the runway after coming in to land.

“An important passenger has just touched down at the airport. Can anyone guess who it might be?” the associated message read.

According to Sky, Pogba’s United medical is scheduled to start at 1pm on Monday afternoon and he has since been pictured arriving at the club’s Carrington Training facilities, approximately a 25 minute journey from the airport.

Speaking on Sunday, United manager Jose Mourinho described the Premier League as the “perfect” environment for Pogba to take his career to the next level and become the best in the world.

“I think United is the perfect club to bring him to the level that he wants to be,” he said.

“The Premier League is the perfect habitat for that. If you want to be the best player in the world, I think if you go to Barcelona or to Real Madrid, you are in trouble. Because I don’t think the other two big guys will let you develop to that level.

“Here he has the conditions to develop in the most seen worldwide championship, which is absolutely incredible, with a team that wants to bring Man United to the top again.”
