RESIDENTS OF Atasemanso, a suburb of Kumasi, are fuming over unreliable power supply in their area in recent times, thereby making life more difficult and uncomfortable for them.

According to the residents, they experience power cuts many times on a daily basis and the situation has become unbearable, saying they are not given any notice before power supply goes off.

They added that the situation had destroyed a number of their electrical gadgets. Without mincing words, they said the Power Distribution Services (PDS) was not acting as expected in their case.

Some of the angry residents who spoke to DAILY GUIDE said they were fed up with poor delivery service by the PDS, and were planning to embark on a massive demonstration against them.

Nana Achiaa Adusei Poku, one of the angry residents, said “our electrical appliances are being destroyed every day by the PDS.We suffer power cuts a minimum of 10 times in a day and our television sets, refrigerators and other items have been destroyed already.”

Another resident, Kwaku Obeng, said “we all thought that the PDS was coming to make things better for us but from the look of things, the ECG is far better than the PDS.”

One Mohammed Alhassan, who was extremely angry, said “I think the PDS only wants to punish the people of Atasemanso.”
