Police Arrest Suspect For Inciting Comments In Bawku

RAPHAEL AZARE Kariyama is in the custody of the Ghana Police Service in connection with inciting comments believed to threaten public peace and security in Bawku and its surrounding communities.

Kariyama was arrested through an intelligence-led operation aimed at monitoring and curbing the spread of content that incites violence, disturbs public order, or poses a risk to national security.

According to a press release signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Directorate (CID), the suspect is currently in police custody and will be arraigned before court to face the full rigours of the law.

Police say investigations are ongoing, and efforts are underway to arrest other accomplices involved in the matter.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has cautioned the general public to refrain from making, publishing, or sharing inciteful comments, stressing that such actions undermine peace, security, and national cohesion.
