The late Ibrahim Mohammed
THE PANKRONO District Police in the Ashanti Region is relying on a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to help arrest four male suspects, who shot and butchered a 30-year-old man to death at Tafo Mile Three in Kumasi, at 4am on August 4, 2025.
The suspects, who are currently on the run, reportedly ambushed the now deceased man, a native of Asenua in the Kwabre East District, who was on a motorcycle with a female pillion rider. They then shot the man at close range and then butchered him with a sharp cutlass to end his life.
“Ibrahim Mohammed, the deceased, had attended Lumba’s candlelight vigil with his girlfriend, Dzifah Priscilla, at Woodin Royals Hotel at Tafo Mile Three, and they were on their way to Standford Bridge on a motorbike when he was attacked by four men, who shot him with a pistol and also inflicted cutlass wounds on him.
“That he was rushed to Old-Tafo Government Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival,” the police said, adding that officers rushed to the scene only to meet the absence of the killers.
“On receipt of the report, the District Commander ASP George Dzeameshie, District Crime officer, ASP Andrews Ayarek and the investigator, D/C/Inspr. Emmanuel Nyavor proceeded to the scene.
“The Regional Crime Scene team led by D/C/Inspr Collins Arthur was invited to the scene to assist in the investigation. The body of Ibrahim Mohammed, aged 30, which was lying at Old-Tafo Government hospital was inspected.
“Gunshot and multiple cutlass wounds were found on the body. A CCTV footage was received from Woodin Royals Hotel, which would aid in the arrest of the culprits,” the police statement sighted by the DAILY GUIDE indicated.
It said “two machetes, five 9mm empty shells and three projectiles stuck in the wall at the scene, were retrieved and retained for investigation,” noting that the body has been deposited at the Ebenezer Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
