The Ghana Police Service has expressed gratitude to the members of the Minority for their cooperation and support during the #OccupyBoG demonstration organized yesterday, October 3, 2023 calling for the removal of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana and his two deputies.
Despite the high tension and possibility of chaos during yesterday’s #OccupyBoG demonstration, the Minority proved to be an outstanding and admirable example of peaceful protest.
The police were pleased with the fact that the Minority ensured that their demonstration remained peaceful while expressing their opposition to the existing state of affairs in the Bank of Ghana.
Some citizens of the country had anticipated violence and chaos owing to the spurious demands by the Minority to have the Governor of the Bank of Ghana and his deputies removed from their posts.
The Minority, however, set a good precedent by following the advice of the Ghana Police Service, who had advised them to maintain a peaceful and lawful demonstration.
The Ghana Police Service has also seized the opportunity to remind the public of their commitment to upholding democratic values and maintaining peace and order in Ghana.
The minority’s peaceful demonstration was a great example for future protests in the country.
