One person has been killed and two others wounded in a shooting inside a popular shrine at Prampram in the Ningo Prampram District of the Greater-Accra Region.
The three, who are heads of some families in Prampram, had gone to the Lalue Shrine when they were shot by some unknown gunmen in the incident which occurred on Tuesday morning.
The police, in a statement, identified the deceased as one Nene Aryeh Otusekrom, and said Tawiah Nyumu and Nene Tettey Kwadzo were also injured in the process.
Signed by Chief Inspector Stella Dede Dzakpasu, Acting Police PRO for Tema Region, the statement indicated that two suspects had been arrested and detained at the Devtraco Police Station in connection with the incident.
It added that the two were assisting the investigation by the Prampram Divisional Police Command, and pointed out that the Tema Regional Police Crime Scene Management team had also examined the scene for evidential materials that will aid in the investigation.
The statement said further that the body of the deceased had been sent to the Tema General Hospital for preservation and autopsy, while the injured were receiving medical attention at the same hospital.
