Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia with the queens
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged Miss Ghana 2017, Margaret Dery, and runners-up for the recently held Miss Ghana pageant to use their crowns toproperly promote Ghana internationally.
He was speaking when Exclusive Events Ghana, organisers of the Miss Ghana pageant, paid a courtesy call on him last week.
The visit was to introduce the beauty pageant winners to the vice president since he was not able to attend the crowning ceremony on October 7 at the State Banquet Hall in Accra.
They included the ultimate winner Margaret Dery, first runner-up Priscilla Gameli and second runner-up Marigold Frimpong.
The vice president urged the ladies to work hard towards promoting Ghana as a viable investment and tourism destination, and also serve as a living example of what the girl-child can do if she sets her mind to it.
Led by the CEO of Exclusive Events, Inna Patty, the ladies promised to promote Ghana internationally through tourism and intellectualism.
Prior to visiting the vice president, the queens called on President Akufo-Addo at the Flagstaff House, where he expressed enthusiasm the Miss Ghana contest was conducted in a good atmosphere without any heavy rivalry, which he described as excellent.
