‘Questions About Mbappe So Boring’

Luis Enrique

Paris Saint-Germain boss, Luis Enrique, has criticised journalists for always asking him about decisions around Kylian MbappĂ©’s playing time, calling the line of questioning “boring.”

His PSG team earned an impressive 2-0 win over great rivals Marseille in Le Classique on Sunday despite playing with 10 men for over 50 minutes, but the result did little to calm the ire of the Spanish coach when he was asked about his call to bring on Gonçalo Ramos for Mbappé in the 65th minute.

“It’s the same music, every single week. It’s so boring,” he said on the Amazon Prime Video broadcast after the result.

“I am the manager. I make decisions every day, every week. I am going to the same until my last day in Paris.

“I always try to find the best solution for my team. Maybe I am wrong, but I think I am right.”

Luis Enrique has repeatedly taken off or not started MbappĂ© since the France captain’s decision to leave the club went public in February, with talks ongoing with Real Madrid ahead of a summer move.

The manager and player held clear-the-air talks in early March over the reduced playing time, sources told ESPN, though MbappĂ© has continued to play a key role in the Parisian club’s Champions League campaign. They face Barcelona in the quarterfinals.
