First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has hit the streets of Accra campaigning for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to win the upcoming elections for continuity and economic prosperity.

The campaign exercise saw the First Lady visiting various constituencies to engage residents and electorates to also vote massively for the NPP Parliamentary Candidates (PCs) to win the December elections so they can support Dr. Bawumia to deliver on his campaign promises.

She visited the Ablekuma Central, Korle Klottey, Amasaman and Dome Kwabenya constituencies to engage with the electorates.

According to the First Lady, a vote for Dr. Bawumia would ensure the continuation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy and Agenda 111 Hospitals among others.

She said the NPP is a party that has been tried and tested and found to be able to fulfil its campaign promises.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo said voting otherwise in both the presidential and parliamentary elections, was going to set the country back in terms of development.

She, thus, called on Ablekuma Central electorate to vote massively for the NPP PC, Jefferson Sackey, a young and vibrant man who has the good of the people at heart.

Mr. Sackey, on his part, said he has a vision of transforming the lives of women in the constituency by ensuring their economic and social empowerment.

He pledged to expand a financing scheme that he has established for market women in the constituency if given the mandate to be their MP.

The First Lady later moved to the Korle Klottey Constituency where she, together with Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, the NPP PC, met with the electorate and canvassed for votes for the NPP government.

Mr. Nortey urged the individuals to prioritise their health by voting for the NPP due to its commitment to quality healthcare delivery.

He promised to launch a supplementary health card, enhancing the existing NHIS benefits and providing more comprehensive coverage for individuals, if elected as MP.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo also visited the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency and called on the electorate to vote for the NPP in the December polls to ensure a massive win for the party.

She said by voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, and the parliamentary candidates in those areas, the electorate would ensure that Ghana gets development-oriented leaders to continue the good works of the party.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo particularly appealed to the electorate in Abokobi to change their voting pattern and vote massively for the NPP.

According to her, Dr. Bawumia is a brilliant young man who is full of ideas and vision, and a vote for him would ensure continuity of the good works of the party across the country.

She promised to lobby for a crèche for Abokobi if they deliver a win for the NPP, both in the presidential and parliamentary elections.

The NPP PC for Dome-Kwabenya, Mike Oquaye Jnr, on his part, pledged to bring development to Abokobi and its environs if the electorate vote for him and Dr. Bawumia come December 7.

He said he would also facilitate the upgrade of their health centre into a polyclinic, build a nurses and doctors’ quarters attached to the clinic, complete work on the Abokobi Senior High School, complete an ongoing information centre and a borehole for the community.

Mr. Oquaye Jnr called on the electorate to spread the good works of the NPP for all to see, so that they would vote for the party.

Earlier, the First Lady and her entourage paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Abokobi, Nii Abokobi, Samuel Nii Adjetey Mohenu at his palace, where she thanked the chief and his elders for the faith they have in the party.

In a related development, Mrs. Akufo-Addo also went to the Amasaman Constituency and interacted with people with disabilities, market women, hairdressers, seamstresses, and bakers, and rallied them to throw their weight behind the NPP so that its good policies like the Free SHS, Agenda 111 Hospitals and others could be continued.

The NPP PC for Amasaman, Yahya Kassim Atta, promised to continue with the development projects being undertaken in the constituency, if voted as the MP for the area.
