The Receiver for the 347 insolvent Microfinance Companies (MFCs) has said it has nothing to do with some microfinance companies which were closed down by the Bank of Ghana sometime ago.
The companies include Jasper Motors, Care for Humanity, God is Love and Perfect Edge.
According to a statement signed by the Receiver, Eric Nipah, there are wild rumours in the Ashanti Region where some people are telling customers of Jasper Motors, Care for Humanity, God is Love and Perfect Edge to submit documentation of their claim to A One Microfinance, which is under his domain, for processing of their claim and payment.
“The attention of the Receiver for the 347 insolvent Microfinance Companies (MFCs) has been drawn to a statement making rounds in the Ashanti Region about calls on customers of Jasper Motors, Care for Humanity, God is Love and Perfect Edge to submit documentation of their claim to A One Microfinance for processing of their claim and payment.”
“The Receiver would like to make clear that none of the companies mentioned is under its receivership and people do business with them at their own risk.”
The statement said further that “customers are not supposed to go to A One Microfinance for payment of any kind whatsoever.”
“For those in his receivership, the validation process is still ongoing. Furthermore, the Receiver will publish any relevant information concerning the receivership process. The public is, therefore, advised to confirm veracity of any communication purporting to be coming from the Office of the Receiver.”
