Nuno Espirito Santo
Manuel Pellegrini has urged Nuno Espirito Santo and Brendan Rodgers to reject any impending advances from Arsenal over their vacant managerial position.
Pellegrini’s West Ham faced Santo’s Wolves yesterday in the Premier League and the Hammers boss understands why his opposite number is a wanted man.
But Pellegrini believes it is better to join a new club at the end of the season.
According to The Mirror, Pellegrini said, “I don’t think a serious manager can leave a club for another during the season. That’s what I think. So, for me, I think it would be strange.
“Maybe it’s honour, responsibility. Maybe it is easier for you to be sacked. But for me I will never leave a club because I have a better option in a good moment.
“It’s exactly the same as Brendan Rodgers. Both managers are in a good moment and I don’t think they would throw it all out for another option.
“In my way of thinking, I think it’s impossible for me to do it. So, I don’t think that they will do it.”
Pellegrini himself is under pressure following West Ham’s poor start to the season. The club are just four points above the relegation zone, but an unexpected win at Chelsea last week lifted some of the gloom.
