One of the influential men of God in Ghana, Rev Gabriel Ansah, host of Nasem University on Adom FM, has endorsed Obrafour’s hit song titled ‘Pimpinaa’.
In an interview with Adom Entertainment Hall, an entertainment programme on Adom FM, he mentioned that the song is his favourite and enjoys listening to it anytime it’s aired.
The Nasem University host said that he sees the song as a gospel song, adding that the song “speaks against fornication and other immoral activities. Listen to the song, there is a version that says that I will not ride a vehicle I have paid for, I will only do that after it is licensed in my name.”
Rev Ansah disclosed this when he was speaking about the controversies surrounding the classification of songs into either gospel or circular.
He explained that songs cannot necessarily be branded as gospel music because they were written and released by Christians.
Rev Ansah indicated that all songs that talk about God can be classified as gospel irrespective of the artiste.
The Nasem University host also mentioned songs like Amakye Dede’s ‘Su Fre Wonyame’, Kwabena Kwabena’s ‘Buekwan’ as some of the songs he considers as gospel even though the musicians who did the songs are known circular artistes.
