Rev. Stephen Wengam
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam has been visiting Ashanti East and Ashanti West Regions as part of his pastoral tour of the 24 administrative regions of the church.
At a meeting with pastors and their wives, retired pastors and their spouses, and widows of pastors at the Living Waters Chapel in Kumasi, Rev. Wengam led a three-hour non-stop prayer session focusing on thanksgiving, worship and praying in tongues. There was also time for repentance and rededication, spiritual warfare and intercession for the church and nation.
Rev. Wengam led the pastors and their spouses to renew their wedding vows and prayed for churches who need land and finances to build temples. He also prayed for the sick and those in distress.
The wife of the General Superintendent, Lady Mrs. Monica Wengam, who is also the National President of the Ministers Wives Association of Assemblies of God, Ghana, presented pieces of cloth and undisclosed amounts of cash to retired pastors and their spouses, widows of pastors as well as a piece of cloth each to pastors’ wives.
She explained that the purpose of the gifts was to mitigate the suffering of the vulnerable and pastors in these challenging economic times. Mrs. Wengam encouraged the Ministers and their spouses to be faithful in the discharge of their duties.
The General Superintendent shared a brief exhortation titled, “How to Rescue the Captives of Satan into Christ’s Marvelous Light.”
The Ashanti East Regional Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Gyasi, commended the first couple of the church for their visit and magnanimity.
Rev. Wengam and wife held a similar prayer session and presentation of pieces of cloth and cash to pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their spouses and widows of pastors at Calvary Temple Assemblies of God at Bantama. This was during their pastoral visit to the Ashanti West Region of Assemblies of God, Ghana.
The Regional Superintendent, Rev. Augustine Bempah, applauded Rev. Wengam for initiating and sustaining the novel Apostolic Visits.
He expressed gratitude to the General Superintendent and wife for their show of generosity.
