Prof Elvis Nyarko (3rd right) express gratitude to RTU after the presentation
RIGWORLD TRAINING Centre (RTC), a member of Rigworld Group International, recently donated an ambulance to the management and staff of the Regional Maritime University (RMU) at Nungua, near Accra, to assist its health centre.
According to Steve Taylor, manager of RTC, the gesture formed part of Rigworld’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Prof Elvis Nyarko, Vice Chancellor (VC) of RMU, who accepted the keys to the ambulance on behalf of the management, said the university, over the past 60 years, had been without an ambulance. He said the ambulance would aid the rapid emergency services to students and staff of the university.
In a related development, a memorandum of understanding was signed by both parties for the allocation of two acres of land from RMU to the management of Rigworld to construct another training facility on the school’s campus in Takoradi for interested individuals.
RTC is a facility that delivers expert safety and survival training across the offshore sectors. It delivers its training via state-of-the art training center in Takoradi.
