The Robbed Toyota Corolla At The Scene With Some Onlookers.
Information reaching DAILY GUIDE indicates that three suspected armed robbers yesterday launched an attack at the Steel Works Junction in Tema in broad daylight.
The robbers, who were wielding AK47 assault rifles, were said to have made away with unspecified amount of money in a black Toyota Corolla saloon car with registration number GT 2800-14.
Some police personnel of the Visibility Department, who were on duty at the junction, reportedly took to their heels for fear of losing their lives after the armed robbers fired warning shots.
An eyewitness mentioned that the robbers trailed the Toyota corolla from unknown location to the area.
The driver, who was said to have sensed danger, quickly parked the vehicle at the Steel Works Junction due to the presence of the police personnel.
According to the eyewitness, the police officers, together with some civilians, immediately took their heels after the armed robbers started firing warning shots.
“I think the police people ran because they were not wielding weapons. They could have done something if they were armed,” the eyewitness pointed out.
