Samini
The 2018 edition of the annual musical concert dubbed ‘Saminifest’, which was held at the Osu Oxford Street on December 22, turned out to be highly entertaining as all the performing artistes billed for the night thrilled patrons with magnificent live performances.
The event witnessed historic live performances from hiplife and dancehall artistes like Samini, Stonebwoy, Yaa Pono, Rocky Dawuni and others.
Before Samini took over the stage, artistes such as Kwame Partan, Teephlow, Edem, Agbeshie, Kidi and a few others entertained fans with great tunes that set the tone for what became a night of explosive music from Ghana’s self-acclaimed dancehall acts.
Samini mounted the stage with one of his hit songs, ‘Where My Baby Dey’, getting the already excited crowd to sing along.
Delivering hit after hit, Samini thrilled and entertained the crowd with his various hit and danceable songs as ‘Linda’, ‘Gyae Shii’, ‘Tempo’, ‘Sweet Mistake’, ‘Iskoki’.
Having performed at a number of shows before the ‘Saminifest’ concert, one would have expected to see a drop in his energy level but that was far from it, as he was on fire throughout his stay on stage.
Samini’s performance was held up briefly by the MC for the night, comedian Foster Romanus, when his family and management mounted the stage with a surprised birthday cake.
After eating some of the cake on stage, Samini continued to perform some his old hits, as well as his new music on the newly released ‘Untamed’ album with the same excitement as he began.
