Lawyer Sandra Ankobiah has made some cash presentations to some hardworking female entrepreneurs in Ghana to support their businesses.
This was at her empowerment programme dubbed, Sisterhood at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Wednesday.
The Sisterhood is a speed networking event to discuss issues which the contemporary aspirational woman face.
It was held under Sandra Ankobiah’s Women Institute initiative to promote and support women through empowering them in business as well as encouraging good health among them.
Earlier programmes under the Women Institute initiative included a Free Breast Screening Exercise at the Madina market and also a fumigation exercise at the Mallam Attah Market in Accra.
Wednesday’s ceremony coincided with Sandra’s birthday which had some of her friends joining her to celebrate.
Some four women received an undisclosed amount of money as they won support from Sandra after pitching their business plans.
They were Bushiru Alhassan of Koowa Market, Marcia Bekoe of First Kings Crown School, Amanda Faruzia of the Skin Bar and Adadevoh Selinam Ameyo of Butter City.
Three accomplished women who were present to engage with the ladies included; DCOP Lydia Donkor – Director General of the Police Professional Standards Bureau, Claudia Lumor – Founder of Glitz Africa, UNFPA Ambassador and Dr Penelope Adinku – Ghana’s First Female Cardiothoracic Surgeon.
Sandra Ankobiah disclosed at the ceremony that the Sisterhood would subsequently select about 50 women occasionally and help them perfect their business plans in their areas of choice.
“We will also give out some money periodically to young ladies who present the best business proposal,” she indicated.
Among the personalities who attended the ceremony were Lydia Forson, Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere and Salma Mumin.
