Kwame Owusu Fordjour, known as Dr. UN and the organizer of the Global Blueprint Excellence Awards, has clarified that there are no hostilities between him and renowned rapper Sarkodie.
He stated that Sarkodie is his fan and acknowledged that he played a role in enhancing Sarkodie’s brand’s popularity in the country.
Dr. UN, who has gained notoriety for his award scheme, mentioned that he has encountered Sarkodie on multiple occasions after honoring him with an award, and the interactions have been far from antagonistic, contrary to public perception.
“I have met Sarkodie several times after the awards; he is my fan. Do you know that I made him Sarkodie? His previous branding was not good enough. If it was not me, why does he trend with the awards? I made him trend all the time. After his issue with Yvonne Nelson, he was not popular until he used my trend, and that is where the money is. Why is it that after my award, which was held three years ago, anytime the media interviews him, they focus on my award,” Dr UN explained in a video shared on Express GHTV’s YouTube?
Responding to a question about his thoughts on Sarkodie’s issue with actress Yvonne Nelson, Dr UN said that he believed Sarkodie didn’t exhibit the necessary responsibility as a man. He emphasized that in such situations, one should take responsibility regardless of financial status and should not leave someone like Yvonne Nelson to endure such trauma alone.
In 2020, social media was abuzz when various celebrities, including Sarkodie, were honored at Dr UN’s award ceremony.
The allegations that surfaced at the time were that the award was fake, a claim that Dr UN has consistently refuted.
