Savannah Police Chase Killer Robbers

The Savannah Regional Police Command is trailing four armed robbers whose attack on a mobile money vendor in Sawla led to the death of two persons last Thursday.

A police narration from the region indicated that four suspected armed robbers on two unregistered Aloba brand motorbikes stormed Boresah Ventures, and made away with an unspecified amount of money alongside some mobile phones after attacking the shop attendant.

The two persons who lost their lives in the attack were part of a group of youth who pursued the robbers after witnessing the incident. In the course of the pursuit, according to Inspector Adjekum Owusu, Public Relations Officer for the regional command, the armed robbers fired at the young men on their trail leading to the death of the two.

Following the incident, the Anti-Armed Robbery Taskforce has been deployed to the region to seek and arrest the suspected armed robbers.

The police have pleaded with the public, especially the bereaved families, to remain calm as they pursue the suspects.

The law enforcement officers have also asked that persons with information that can assist the law enforcement agents to nab the criminals should contact them.
