Hajia Ayishetu Seidu
The Youth in the Savelugu-Nanton Municipality in the Northern Region have finally accepted Hajia Ayishetu Seidu as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
The youth had earlier locked out the MCE after her confirmation by assembly members resulting in some hullabaloo in the Municipality.
According to the youth, they were worried that the MCE was not well known to the elders and executives of the party.
They indicated that they finally had the opportunity to engage with the MCE and were convinced that she had what it takes to implement the president’s vision for the benefit of the people of Savelugu-Nanton.
The spokesperson for the youth, Abubakari Saqiq Sulemana told DAILY GUIDE that they will harmoniously work with the MCE to ensure that government’s programmes are implemented.
He assured the president, vice president and the party leadership that they will not do anything to derail the efforts of government’s attempt to make Ghana a safe place for investors.
Abubakari Saqiq Suleman on behalf of the youth apologized to the president for the protests and demonstrations, saying, though they believed their message was important, the approach was wrong.
The Minister of State at the Presidency, Bryan Acheampong said government was grateful to the youth for accepting the MCE.
According to him, the vision of government will be implemented by the MCE for the development of Savelugu-Nanton Municipality.
He thanked the Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed, MP for Savelugu, Samed Gunu, founders of the party and party executives in the constituency for their support in resolving the issue.
The Northern Regional Minister Salifu Saeed expressed his gratitude to the youth for accepting to work with the MCE for the betterment of the area.
He indicated that government has taken note of their concerns and assured them that all the issues they raised will be addressed.
The Member of Parliament for Savelugu, Samed Gunu thanked the minister of state in charge of national security, Mr. Bryan Acheampong for being part of the peace mediation.
The MCE thanked President Akufo-Addo for giving her the opportunity to serve in his government and assured him that she will work hard to develop the Municipality.
She assured residents of Savelugu that she will operate a transparent administration which will represent every member in the municipality.
