Ignatius Baffour Awuah
Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffour, has stated that some unscrupulous persons are using his name to defraud innocent Ghanaians who are seeking jobs.
The Minister, in a press statement, copied to DAILY GUIDE, said “such fraudsters have created pseudo Facebook accounts in my name, thereby demanding money from innocent Ghanaians with the aim of securing them jobs.”
“I wish to state categorically and emphatically that I have No Facebook account and have also not authorized anyone to demand money from people in order to secure them jobs,” he said.
According to the Minister, “The general public is therefore advised to treat these individuals as impersonators and fraudsters.”
“In the meantime, the general public must be cautious in transacting business with these individuals while the BNI, CID and other security institutions keep investigating the act.”
Reports of fraudsters defrauding unsuspecting job applicants have become commonplace in Ghana.
At the end of 2017, the Ministry of Railways Development issued a similar statement that some fraudsters were defrauding Ghanaians seeking jobs at that ministry.
