The Ultimate Prize for this year’s GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human(GFH) finals is a one year all expenses paid local scholarship sponsored by GNPC and Adidas, Reks Brobby, founder, GFH has said.
Every year, from March to August, 100 meters competitions are staged in all the ten regions in the U-10, U-15, U-18 and senior category, for both males and females.
Later, 250 are selected for the final of finals in September to look out for who gets crowned as the GNPC Ghana’s Fastest Human.
Out of the 250 finalists, four to six athletes are selected into the GNPC Speedsters Club, in association with #Adidas.
The athletes are clothed by adidas for a year at the Club, they are housed/camped, have access to the best medical care, access to good nutrition and the best coaching and training methods, all in Ghana.
They are also given tutors and are around sports psychologists and job placement specialists.
From the last GNPC Speedsters Club in association with #Adidas, Mary Boakye won a gold medal for Ghana at the ECOWAS U-20 Athletics Championships and Edwin Gadayi, also from same Club, won two gold medals and a silver, also at the ECOWAS U-20 Athletics Championships in Cape Coast.
