Coach Fabin(L) receiving one of the items from the Sel Ghana boss
Managing Director of Sel Ghana Limited, Johnny Blagogee has presented food items worth thousands of Cedis to the Black Starlets at their Prampram camp.
The items which included cartons of milk, bottled mineral water, soft drinks, Milo, toiletries, etc was for a dual purpose-to spur the team on ahead of their return leg clash with their Burkinabe counterparts and to celebrate his birthday with the team.
Coach of the Starlets, Paa Kwesi Fabin expressed sincere thanks to the Sel Ghana boss for the support and promised they will act as worthy ambassadors in the return fixture saying, “We are indeed grateful for the support, in fact you are the first person or I should say the first company to visit us. We promise to give a good account of ourselves, this will certainly urge us on to make our joy complete.”
The donor on the other hand said “We considered this gesture as our duty to contribute to a national cause.”
“We salute the team for the resounding win in the first leg. I have no doubt that the team would be encouraged by this support to do Ghana proud.”
The national U-17 soccer side thumped their Burkina Faso counterparts 5-1 in the first leg at Cape Coast Stadium.
With the emphatic first leg victory, the Ghanaians appear favourites for the African Youth Championship scheduled for Madagascar in 2017.
