A Senegalese goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, has joined Chelsea in the English Premier League.
Mendy joins the Blues from Rennes for fee of £22 million.
His deal is to last for a period of five years.
He becomes the second goalkeeper that Chelsea have signed from Rennes. First to have been signed from Rennes was Petr Cech who now Chelsea’s technical and performance adviser.
Mendy, aged 28, kept nine clean sheets in 24 Ligue 1 appearances last season.
He helped Rennes to finish third in the French league and qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.
