Sexual Assault Suspected In Tema Murder Case

There appears to be traces of semen on the private parts of the top official of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), who was gruesomely murdered in her house recently.

According to the police, they would not rule out sexual assault of Josephine Asante Tandor,Public Affairs and Marketing Manager of GPHA, based on their investigations at the scene.

The police said they found gunshot wounds at the back of her head; she is believed to have been suffocated with a pillowcase by the assailants.

Sources revealed that the police also found cuts on her chin, forehead, right eyebrow and other parts of her body, with blood oozing from her mouth, ear and nose.

She was murdered at her residence at Emefs Estate at Mataheko in the Ningo-Prampram District of the Greater Accra Region.

The police have so far picked a 22-year-old houseboy of the deceased, Christian Agyei, to assist in investigations.

Deep throat sources close to the police indicated that he was arrested with an amount of GH¢340 and wrist watch of the deceased which he allegedly buried behind his window at the boys’ quarters.

In addition, the key to the bedroom and remote control to the main gate were also found close to the boys’ quarters where he lived.

The houseboy claimed he heard unusual noise on the fateful day, alleging that when he came out, he saw the culprit, who was in black shirt and pair of jeans, escaping after killing the 49-year-old woman.

Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE from a source close to the deceased and police said on Saturday, January 12, 2019, Ms Asante attended GPHA Senior Staff party of the Authority.

The mother of one returned home at about 1:30 am on Sunday but unknown to her, the assailants trailed her while others also hid in the house.

The assailants, after the incident, locked her in the bedroom and threw the keys on the compound.

According to reports, the houseboy of the deceased is said to be assisting the police in investigations.
