The State Housing Company (SHC) Limited has handed over two housing units to the Ashanti Regional Police Service at the John Agyekum Kufuor Estate at Oyoko Akrofrom in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region to accommodate personnel.

Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, the Managing Director of the State Housing Company at a short but colourful event on Friday, June 21 2024, explained that the initiative is geared towards reducing accommodation burden on the police administration.

The gesture, he further stated, would encourage the police to execute their duties well, having a sound place to lay their heads.

Mr. Ampofo Appiah also disclosed that everyone was qualified to purchase a house from the SHC at an affordable price, be it an organisation, institution or an individual.

He indicated that, there are Immigration officers, doctors and nurses occupying some of the houses, and advised the media to also follow suit.

According to him, the government through SHC is trying to ensure that every Ghanaian citizen who wants to buy a house is provided with one of their choice at an affordable price through the housing projects.

Mr. Daniel Augustine Tawiah, Zonal Operations Manager for Ashanti, comprising the Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo and Western North regions, who accompanied the Managing Director, also inspected the ongoing housing project at South Suntreso.

The project at South Suntreso, he said, has 16 housing units with four bedrooms with a hall, toilet and bathroom each.

He disclosed that, the project is set to be completed in three months to accommodate the owners by the end of this year.

ACP Frank Abrokwah, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander who received the keys of the housing unit on behalf of the Police Administration, commended SHC for the kind gesture.

He pledged that, the personnel who would occupy the facilities would ensure constant maintenance for the housing units to last and serve the intended purpose.
