Mathew Opoku Prepmeh- Education Minister
THE GHANA Education Service (GES) has released a USSD Code to enable candidates who sat for the 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to confirm their choice of schools at the Senior High School (SHS) level.
A statement issued and signed by Head of Public Relations at GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, gave the code as *800*25#, and indicated that there was a GH¢ 1 service charge.
It observed that the deadline for the confirmation was August 15, 2018.
According to the statement, “The confirmation process is to ensure that schools chosen by candidates are exactly what GES has in its system for a hitch free school placement this year.”
It urged that candidates with any errors in their original school selection forms are to inform the District Director of Education in their respective districts through their heads of junior high schools.
It explained that complaints must have a covering letter from their head teachers with a photocopy of their signed original choice forms.
According to the statement, “The general public is therefore informed that the above is the approved GES USSD code and is cautioned to be careful of individuals who take advantage of situations to deceive the public for their parochial interest.”
