Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah
The Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has made it clear that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of most economies.
“Without a doubt, MSMEs are the backbone of most economies of the world. They are the engines that drive innovation, create jobs, and foster economic growth,” he pointed out.
The Regional Minister was addressing a meeting of stakeholders in the region to mark this year’s celebration of World MSMEs Day.
It was on the theme, ‘Digitalization, The Key To MSME Growth and Sustainability.’
The programme was organized by the Sekondi-Takoradi Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of its continued commitment to the development and promotion of MSMEs in our Region.
The Regional Minister stressed that the focus of the government through the leadership of the Vice President has been phenomenal in this regard.
He said Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has been championing digitalisation at its best and the government had been providing incentives for inclusivity, offering the enabling platform for MSMEs’ growth and sustainability.
He said government has also been addressing topical issues concerning access to technology and markets, capacity building of stakeholders, policy and regulatory support.
He then urged the business community to develop Red Car Mentality, being opened, curious and prepared to seek opportunities that would drive their businesses to grow and succeed.
He said “The Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC) under my leadership is ensuring that the business climate in the region is friendly with necessary supports to spur growth”.
