THERE IS looming danger at the Kumasi Airport as human activities in the area tend to pose threat to airplanes and passengers.
Some unscrupulous people that live in the communities that are close to the busy airport indulge in activities that generate a lot of smoke which billow over the skyline of the airport.
According to reports, the thick smoke travels high into the skyline, and experts have said such acts have the tendency of disrupting in the navigation system of the airport.
Officials of the airport, report said, have consistently complained about the danger that the smoke poses to take-offs and landing of planes, but to no avail.
Few days ago, the DAILY GUIDE witnessed a thick black smoke that has taken over the entire airport skyline.
The smoke was so thick that even people no experience in the operations of aeroplanes could sense a looming danger.
The thick smoke according to the airport workers usually comes from the Kontompo, Aboabo and Adukrom areas and it has been there for sometime without any action being taken.
Some passengers even condemned the city authorities for not taking any action as activities of some people continue to pose danger at the airport.
